Aice Group has announced its support for the Waisak celebration at Borobudur Temple this year, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) under the Wonderful Indonesia campaign. The event, held on June 4, was attended by various dignitaries, including Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo.

In an effort to enhance the experience for Borobudur visitors, Aice Group set up an ice cream booth at the Waisak event, providing tens of thousands of ice creams to attendees. In this very special moment, the event reached its peak with the release of thousands of lanterns in the evening.

In addition, Aice Group introduced an innovative ice cream product with local culinary flavors, namely Aice Mochi Klepon. This product is the result of a collaboration between Aice Group and Kemenparekraf to incorporate the cultural heritage of Indonesian culinary traditions into mochi ice cream.

To enliven the cultural performances and religious activities throughout the Waisak celebration at Borobudur, Aice Group brought its mascot, Aice Mochi Baby, adorned in various traditional Indonesian costumes. This was done to support the Borobudur Park as a tourism holding of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in improving services and entertainment in the Borobudur area.

Sylvana Zhong, Spokesperson and Senior Brand Manager at Aice Group, stated that Waisak has become a good moment to share the happiness and beauty that arises from Borobudur and the celebration of the birth of Buddha.

Aice Group supported this significant moment by bringing joy through Aice ice cream products to thousands of visitors, including the delightful Aice Mochi Klepon, a combination of the delicious klepon cake with the popular mochi ice cream.

"We extend our congratulations to fellow countrymen of the Buddhist faith celebrating Waisak. This beautiful moment at Borobudur will undoubtedly boost tourism spirit among both foreign and domestic tourists visiting this grand temple. Happy Waisak Day 2023. Sabbe Satta Bhavantu Sukithata. May all beings be happy."

Meanwhile, Titus Haridjati, Director of Communications and Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, stated that this year's Waisak celebration at Borobudur is an important humanitarian moment for the nation. Peace and happiness for people are universal human values. According to him, Borobudur is not only beautiful but also sacred.

"Wonderful Indonesia is vividly reflected in this nation's pride, the Borobudur Temple. Borobudur has brought happiness to humanity through its beauty and sacredness. The support of stakeholders, including Aice Group, is concrete evidence that Wonderful Indonesia and Borobudur Temple bind us all in this year's Waisak celebration," said Titus.

In this celebration, Aice Group strives to make a positive contribution and enrich the experience of visitors while supporting the Wonderful Indonesia campaign to promote the beauty and diversity of Indonesian tourism through this Borobudur event.

Continuing the tradition from year to year, the lantern release in the evening becomes the closing moment of the Waisak celebration at Borobudur. Thousands of Buddhist followers gather at the temple complex to participate in this ceremony.

The lanterns, made of paper and adorned with spiritual messages, are collectively released into the sky. The lantern release symbolizes hope, surrender, and sacrifice.

This moment serves as a time of reflection for Buddhists to always spread the light of goodness and send prayers for world peace and prosperity. The lantern release at Waisak in Borobudur has also become a popular tourist attraction, attracting visitors from various parts of the world to witness and participate in this celebration.

According to Sylvana, the Waisak celebration at Borobudur further amplifies the potential of religious tourism in Indonesia on a global level. Borobudur, not only as a historical site but also as a source of inspiration for Aice Group's latest innovation, creates ice cream with the grandeur of the temple structure. This step not only produces delicious ice cream and a unique form but also supports the promotion of Indonesian tourism by bringing an impressive visual and culinary experience to ice cream consumers.

"Through the combination of architectural wonders and flavors, Indonesia is increasingly asserting itself as an unrivaled religious tourism destination and a center of culinary innovation that positively impacts the promotion of this country's tourism on a global level. Aice Group supports the progress of Indonesia," Sylvana concludes.
